About Sara
Sara Cicognani is an Italian sustainability leader and co-founder of Flocus BV, driving innovation in the use of kapok fiber for regenerative textiles. She founded KRAF (Kapok Regenerative Agriculture Forestry) to promote reforestation and ethical sourcing. With her efforts recognized nationally, Sara merges business innovation with ecological and community restoration, transforming overlooked natural materials into catalysts for positive impact. She industrialized ethical kapok processing, scaling its use in the textile industry while supporting local communities and environmental health. Under her leadership, kapok has been reintroduced as a fiber with low environmental impact—requiring no irrigation or chemicals—uplifting both people and landscapes across its global supply chain.
